Surfcity festival came to Barcelona’s MACBA during March 2015, and I was contacted by Hurley to take photos of the event for them.
The festival represents all things Surf, and included a special Surf cinema, a market place, an art gallery, a T-shirt printing stand, a surfboard production room, and later in the evening, a stage for the musical performances.
The event had a great turnout, with a real mixture of people attending, proving that surf culture can be enjoyed by all ages. The event was full of energy, was a lot of fun, and enjoyable to shoot.
Even though I’ve never been a surfer, I definitely felt like I wanted to take up the sport after spending the day at the festival.
All photography taken with a Fuji XT1 and Fuji X100s.
