Cruilla is one of the underdogs of Barcelona’s music festival season, but for me, is one of my favourites.
Taking place over 3 days in Barcelona’s Parc del Forum during the summer, the event is set alongside the sea where the fresh sea breeze keeps you cool while you dance to international acts at one of the many stages.
Maybe it’s due to the large space of the festival, or the laid back vibes of being close to the beach, but I feel this festival is much more relaxed than many other Barcelona music events. It’s the kind of place where you can be near the front row of a performance, yet still have the space to get your groove on.
The 2014 Cruilla festival had an incredible lineup. My personal highlights included Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Snoop Dogg, Rufus Wainwright, Cat Power, Morcheeba and Tiken Jah Fakoly.
During Cruilla, I was taking photos for Barcelona Connect magazine.
